H’Hen was born in Đắk Lắk to Y’Krin Êban and H’Ngơn Niê. She is the third oldest of 6 children. H’Hen used to work at a coffee farm to help his family’s life when he was young. According to the matrilineal customs of the people of Rade, the women of Rade tend to start a family at an early age. However, H’Hen refused to follow this tradition and decided to continue studying at his own expense. She can speak fluently both the Rade and Vietnamese languages, although she only learned the latter (the official working language of Vietnamese people of all ethnic groups) in 8th grade. After graduating from high school, H’Hen to continue with the Business Finance program at the College of Foreign Economic Relations. She worked as a domestic employee for a year to pay bills while in college. When H’Hen was doing her internship in a bank, she began to receive support to become a model. In 2014, shortly after graduating from university, she was discovered by the Vietnamese designer Đỗ Mạnh Cường at the beginning of her career as a model. As she gained interest in the industry, she auditioned for Season 6 of Vietnam’s Next Top Model in 2015 and became a finalist. She finally ranked ninth in the reality television competition. At that time, she was 23 years old, which made her the oldest participant of the competition. H’Hen knows what work is and the value of things. In his youth, he worked in a cafe to help in the difficult economic situation that his family was living at that time. And although the tradition in their culture is to marry very young, at age 14, she decided that this was not her destiny.
